Face To Face Client Relationships Are Closer Than You Think

As a businessman or -woman, you know that client relationships are paramount in the success of both the business you own or work for and in your own career.  And you are also no doubt aware of the role that communication plays in forging strong bonds with clients and customers, as well as with your colleagues.  Communication is the building block with which solid client relationships are built, and only by maintaining excellent communication with your clients and colleagues can you hope to excell in your field.

There are several avenues of communication that everyone devoted to successful business should consider when client relationships that last are their own lasting goal.  Obviously business communciation has come a long, long way from letters on office letterhead and phone calls (although those too play a role, as we’ll see).  In order to give your clients the open lines of communication they need to feel secure in their business dealings, you need to keep pace with the advances in communications technology.

Before, your Rolodex was perhaps the most powerful weapon in your communications arsenal, but there are many more resources at your disposal now.  The internet, and specifically video conferences, have changed the way client relationships have built.  The business trip is not quite obsolete–there is something to be said for the social aspects of communicating in person–but it isn’t the only way to give your clients face time anymore.

If your idea of a video conference involves a special room, giant screens, and thousands of dollars, you need to get up to speed.  Video chatting with clients via reliable online software is easier and less expensive than that.  You probably have the required hardware in your laptop.
