A business owners and managers are aware that clients are the lifeblood of a business and how important it is to build strong relationships.   Building strong relationships with clients may take time; however, going about it the right way is not as difficult as some percieve.

There are a variety of ways to build strong client relationships with individuals that range from having both low or high maintenance personalities and everything in between.  Because every client is different, having relationships with each that will compliment their personal attitudes, and personalities is essential in building ongoing relationships. For example, a business owner may be working with a client that is concerned when they do not receive daily feed back on a particular project.  In this case, it is best to up-date the client daily with information related to the project in order to provide reassurance. However, there may be some clients that enjoy a good conversation and the business owner can occasionally engage in a good talk from time to time in order to build repertoire. The key to building strong client relations is picking up on personality clues and then dealing with each client accordingly.

Building Long Lasting Client Relationships
1. Making the client feel special- In most cases, making a client feel special will help maintain long lasting client relationships.  An example of how this can be done is when a project is done for a client, in the closing e-mail; a note signifying that it was a pleasure doing business may be appreciated by the client and will show that their business is valued.

2. Be Professional-A client should always be addressed in a professional manner and referring to them any other way will not convince them of a business owner’s ability to complete a project.3.

Be Polite- In many cases, business owner and client correspondence is done through email.  Because communications of this type can often be misconstrued, the business owner needs to make a conscious effort to provide clear, polite messages that will leave no doubt about what is trying to be said.
